Microsoft Teams Assignments is a built-in assessment and workflow management system within Microsoft Teams for Education. It allows instructors to create, distribute, collect, and grade digital assignments and digital portfolio submissions.

What is the purpose of Microsoft Teams Assignments and Rubrics

The purpose of Teams Assignments is to provide a single workspace for evaluating student submissions. It streamlines assignment collection, incorporates customizable grading rubrics, provides inline document feedback, and syncs grades directly with the class gradebook.

How to use Microsoft Teams Assignments and Rubrics

Instructors set up an assignment in the "Assignments" tab of their Class Team, attach reference files or response templates (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), and attach a grading rubric. As students submit work, instructors can open submissions side-by-side with the rubric, apply point values, annotate files, and return graded work with feedback.

  • Application collects information that could identify the user specifically (email address, class schedule, etc..)

EULA

  • Application's Terms of Conditions or End User License Agreement poses a risk of binding the institution to an agreement thereby requiring legal counsel to review the application. However, this is mitigated as it has undergone legal review during the Technology Risk Assessment process.
